Some Happenings...

Just thought I'd write and update on some things that have been going on around here. Leighton was able to put in our pellet stove! It is so nice to have a warm fire to warm our home!! He was able to put it in right before the big cold front and snow came, which was a HUGE blessing!!

We were able to put together the pack-n-play that we got from our baby shower. And our diaper bag came! Which I think is SOO cute!
It came with a basinet, changing table, and a small diaper holder on the side! We really like it!

The adorable design on the bottom of the pack-n-play.

Diaper bag...gotta have it! :)

And we found a baby book. Since we don't know if we are having a boy or a girl, we found this adorable classic Whinnie the Pooh one! We can hardly wait to start filling it all in!

This coming week I have another midwife appointment. Then Leighton and I are going to a 3 day Alfalfa Symposium...which to non-farmers probably doesn't sound to interesting. But around here, it's a BIG deal!! :) We are hoping to take away a lot of knowledge from this to improve our farming. :) Then to end our week, Leighton's 22nd birthday is Saturday. We are having all our family over on Sunday to celebrate. :)

And to end the post, a quick picture of my Cowboy. :) I hope you all have a wonderful month of December with all the wonderful things of Christmas!

Baby Update...

Well, I'm 30 weeks already! Where has the time gone! It feels like we just announced that we were expecting and now we are only 9 short weeks away from my due date! Our baby is due February 1st, but we will see when this baby actually gets here! :) This pregnancy has been pretty smooth sailing. (except for being sick the first 3 months. :) Our baby is doing wonderful and is V.E.R.Y. active! Hardly seems to stop moving. And because of that, I haven't really been sleeping well this past week or so. I'm usually up 6-8 times a night! But I haven't felt really overly tired, which I'm thankful for! The midwife said I am measuring small, but that's to be expected. :)

Just last week, my sister, Kelli, her husband Chet, and my nephew Quade came for a 5 day visit! It was wonderful having them here! And while they were here, Kelli gave Leighton and I a baby shower! It was wonderful and super cute! The theme was baby woodland animals...lots of neutral colors since we don't know what our baby is. :) (That is getting really hard not knowing! We are so anxious to know...can't wait to call this baby by name! We've had a boy and girl name picked out since the week we found out! :) Anyway, the shower was beautiful and Leighton stayed for the whole thing! Everyone kept teasing him, but he loved it! He said "Since you got a bridal shower and I couldn't be a part of that, I'm going to be a part of this baby shower!" :)

We are both so looking forward to having this little one in our life! Such a huge blessings and responsibility! But one we are ready to take on!

Oh, and did I mention that all three of us are expecting!?! That's right! Both Kelli and Kristina are due June 6th! It is so much fun for all of us to be pregnant at the same time! Who would have thought!? We are all praising the Lord for this.

An Update....

Well, here's a baby update. :) We just had our 20 week appointment and everything is going wonderful! The ultrasound went great, and our little baby waved at us and we were able to see the whole side profile. :) It is truly amazing to see how much this little baby of ours has grown and changed from week 12 to 20! I'm really starting to show! No denying this Mommy-to-be is pregnant! I can't really fit into any of my old cloths, so we just had to go out and get some new ones, which is always fun. :) I'm feeling our baby move more and more each day. Always seems to be kicking or moving....and there is still lots of room in there!!! I can only imagine how it's going to be as we get closer to our due date!  We just ordered our stroller and car seat and I was so excited to see that it came today!! I'll post a picture of it when we get it all put together. :) We are still in search of the perfect crib though. But' we will know it when we see it.

And as promised, here is a better picture of Mudge. :) She is doing great and really has a fun personality! I've really enjoyed feeding her. She gets me out of bed each morning earlier than I'd like...and I'd better get used to that! :)

Well, off to bed.

I have always like that quote and hope to stick to it! May God be with you all through this week!

Our "Mini" Vacation...

Leighton and I went to a family members wedding up in Idaho this past weekend. We had a wonderful time!! It was nice to have a "mini" vacation in the middle of our very busy summer. We came back through Oregon and were able to see some Lava rock, rapids, beautiful forests, and old bridges. We were very thankful for that special time. God always knows what we need. :)

Leighton and I at the wedding. Doesn't he look great in pink?!

This is called a "Lightning Tree" because of the way they grow. It is even more crooked as it goes up, but I couldn't get a picture of it.

Part of these rapids goes between two cliffs and widens out again further down. It was beautiful!

The hill in the background is a Lava hill. There was a ton of lava that just started coming out of the ground and formed a big hill and then spread out in a large part of the forest. It was really amazing to see!

Mudge...

Something new that has happened around here is Mudge. Mudge is a 3 month old calf who was rejected by her mother. So, I am now taking care of her. :) And the Lord couldn't have brought her to us at a more perfect time! I have always wanted to bottle feed a calf and had the opportunity a few months ago, but Leighton and I both felt it wasn't the right time. So I passed and then not long after that we found out I was pregnant. :) So it worked out great because I wasn't feeling good for so long...and just a few days ago when Mudge came, was the first time I've been feeling great all day and night! Talk about perfect timing!! So, I feel good now and am able to get up early each morning to go and feed this little girl. It is a lot of fun and I am really enjoying it.

This is Mudge
I'll try and get a better picture of her...for some reason the picture won't turn! :p Oh well, I'll get new pictures of a bunch of stuff soon. :)

Blessings...

Well, it's been a long time since I have written on our blog. I apologize....but I do have a good excuse. :) The Lord has blessed Leighton and I with a new little life that will be joining our family in February!! These past weeks have been hard for me as I have been struggling with morning sickness all day long. But it is so worth it! We are both overjoyed that the Lord has blessed us this way! It was a surprise...but isn't it always when you let the Lord decide?

We went for our first midwife appointment just last week and it went wonderful! We really like our midwife...so sweet are caring! We did our first ultrasound...and it was so amazing to see that precious life inside of me, given to us by God! I am actually 2 weeks farther along than I thought so I am 12 weeks. :) Our baby was VERY active when Lynn (our midwife) was doing the ultrasound. Flips, kicks, moving constantly! She said she has never seen such an active baby so young! We are so thankful that everything has gone so well so far and that our baby is so strong and healthy...and active! When we seen how active our baby was, Leighton said "No wonder you feel sick all the time!"

So after our midwife appointment, Leighton and I decided to go to the Chevy dealership and just look at some of the pickups they have their. We have an extended cab Chevy that we know we have to replace so we have room for our family. So 3 hours later and with much prayer, we were the new owners of a 2014 4 Crew Cab Chevy Silverado! The Lord is so good to have provided this pickup for us!

So that is the biggest news in our life right now! In my next post, I'll put some wedding photos of us. :) God Bless!

Drought...

is a tough word for a farmer. This year, we are only getting 6 % of water. We have to watch a lot of our fields die. We are only able to get one good cutting of Alfalfa, maybe two. It's hard. But God is always faithful and He always provides in His timing...and not a moment to soon. It takes trust...to trust Him to provide for what you are lacking. It takes faith...to carry on and still have the joy of the Lord. It takes hope...to believe that next year will be a better farm year. Yet, I can already see the blessing in this year being a drought. Leighton and I have a lot more time together and opportunity to get our house in order. We have a little more freedom to get all of that done. It is a blessing in a way. :)

But, in spite of a drought, I truly am loving life on the farm! It's a lot of fun with all the different equipment. Being able to work alongside with Leighton is my favorite part. We have made a lot of memories... especially in the Squeeze. (I do believe that is my favorite piece of equipment. :)

The Squeeze :)

Gideon...

Just last week, Leighton and I got a new puppy. His name is Gideon and he is a 9 week old English Shepherd. He is the best dog you could ever ask for! He already comes when called and sits when he gets to you, knows sit, down, wait, is crate trained and potty trained!! He stays right by our sides when we are outside and loves to work with us!! What more could you ask for!? I especially wanted a dog like this for when Leighton is out late working, I have a companion and a guard dog for when I'm alone...and he's already shown what a great guard dog he'll grow up to be! Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy. :)

Isn't he cute!?

Honeymoon...

Well.....we are married!!!!!! and married life is WONDERFUL!!!!! We took a week honeymoon and went to the Oregon coast. It was the first time I had ever seen the ocean....it's AMAZING!! We had such a wonderful time! We spent a good 4-5 days just on the coast...visiting harbor towns, aquariums, the beaches. Leighton surprised me and we went horseback riding on the beach! It was wonderful! It was a wonderful week that we will always cherish. God is so good to have brought us together.

Here are a few pictures from the honeymoon...we haven't had the chance to download all the pictures from our camera, so these are just from our phone.

The beautiful ocean!

This is how much snow was at Crater Lake! Almost everything was snowed in!
